Anyone who has elementary school age boys will appreciate this…

My two boys have recently been on a Beyblade kick. They love the cartoons, and they especially love the toys. After playing Beyblades with them for most of the afternoon, I have to admit that they are pretty fun, even though they are basically just tops.

Later in the afternoon, they asked me if they could get some new Beyblades, and as such, we set out on a quest to find the specific ones they were looking for. After trips to two different stores, both of which were completely out of all Beyblades, I asked my oldest son Nick, “These must be the hot new toy now, right?” He responded affirmatively, saying that all his friends at school had at least one. He added that one of his friends had thirteen of them. I said, “Wow. So what happened to Bakugans? Do you still like them?” Nick responded, “No way, Dad. Bakugans are just a scam to get kids to do math.” *

* Apparently, there is a game that one can play with Bakugans where each Bakugan has card with a certain power level (G Power), and the “battles” between them require adding and subtracting.
