Everyday Carry

I recently found this interesting site called Everyday Carry via way of A Continuous Lean. The premise of the site is that people can chronicle what they carry with them on a day to day basis. I find this to be very interesting, and as such, I have been inspired to show what I carry around, which I admit is pretty minimal.

The phone is a Nokia 6650. I use it mainly for talking, texting and as my main camera when on the go. It’s a very capable phone and runs Symbian S60 v3. One of the things I really like about this phone is that it is made of aluminum and pretty durable. Sometimes I still swap my SIM into my old Nokia 6126, but I would guess I use the 6650 about 75 percent of the time as it has a better camera.

The iPod is a 16 GB 5th gen Nano, and it is my main source of music in the car and pretty much everywhere else I happen to go (except at home, where I mainly stream tunes from Grooveshark on either my iMac or CR-48). In my opinion, the 5th gen Nano is the best yet, especially with the video camera. I watch a lot of video podcasts on my Nano as well, and as such, I was sad that Apple eliminated video capabilities in the 6th gen model.

On a final note, I noticed that a large number of people also included their watch(es) in their pics. Not shown in my pic are the two watches I alternate between. One is a Nautica diving watch (shown in the pic here) and the other is a cheap Timex Ironman. I’m contemplating writing more in depth about the Ironman, as I have put this watch through hell.

Update: The Nokia has since been replaced with an iPhone and the Nano has been handed down to my son.
